A new special issue titled “Market-based land-use tools for ecosystem services supply in urban and peri-urban areas” is available in Land Use Policy journal. Dr. Enzo Falco and Dr. Davide Geneletti are the guest editors.
This Virtual Special Issue aims to cover empirical applications of tools and practices such as Transfer of Development Rights, Purchase of Development Rights and other market-based land use tools (e.g. land value capture, voluntary land-readjustment, swapping of development rights) that are adopted to explicitly plan and implement nature-based solutions in urban and peri-urban areas in order to increase the supply of different ecosystem services: e.g. micro-climate regulation (urban heat island, run-off mitigation), recreational and cultural services (open and green spaces).
Tentative timeline and deadlines are:
Abstract Submission: June 30th, 2021.
Abstract Selection: July 20th, 2021.
First Deadline for article submission: December 20th, 2021.
Final deadline for article submission: Februar
