My research main goal is studying and developing new models of landscape analysis and assessment, integrating social, ecological and economic data through innovative spatial planning tools and policies. In particular, I am willing to dedicate my research career to sustainable landscape planning to fight ecosystems degradation. Currently, my research activity is part of the SELINA European project and consists of ecosystem services mapping and assessment. I recently graduated with an MSc in “Planning and management of agro-territorial, forest and landscape” at the University of Bologna and I have a BSc in Physics.
My PhD research focuses on the assessment of ecological security based on ecosystem services. I am good at landscape classification and analysis in grassland areas. I am a visiting PhD student from Inner Mongolia University, China, where I received a master’s degree in Ecology and bachelor’s degree in biology.
My research focuses on the integration of ecological knowledge in spatial planning. I focus on methods, indicators, and innovative approaches to promote green infrastructure and nature-based solutions in planning practices and tools. Formerly Alexander-von-Humboldt research fellow at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, postdoc at Lund University, and expert for the European Commission. Past professional activity as planning consultant for public administrations.
My research interests focus on the intersection between environmental justice and nature-based solutions in urban areas. Mainly, I aim to develop conceptual and methodological contributions that can support NbS planning based on the characteristics and realities of the most disadvantaged population groups. At PLANES, I’m also a full-time research assistant for the five-year European Research and Innovation project SELINA. I also hold an MSc in Ecosystem Services from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Autonomous Metropolitan University of Mexico.

I conduct research on the economic evaluation of nature-based investments, and the use of multi-criteria decision-making methods, econometric models for supporting decisions by public-private stakeholders in the sustainable urban planning of the cities. Formerly intern at the Forestry Policy and Division of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), visiting scholar at SUNY College in Syracuse (USA), expert for the European Commission.
My research interests are about mapping and assessing ecosystem services and applying nature-based solutions in urban areas to support spatial planning. I’ve been assigned a research grant to collaborate within the SELINA project. I hold a MSc in environmental and land engineering from the University of Trento and a BSc in civil, construction and environmental engineering, with the latter as major from the University of Florence.
My PhD research aims to understand and explore how spatial planning and management instruments can proactively ensure biodiversity.
I graduated at the international curriculum of Global Change Ecology and Sustainable Development Goals of the Master Degree in Science and Management of Nature at the University of Bologna, Italy. In the same university, I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences.
My PhD research focuses on the assessment of ecosystem services and discussing Nature-based Solutions for sustainable urban development. I am a visiting PhD student from Tianjin University, China, where I received a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
My main research interest is the evaluation of ecosystem services supplied by Nature-based Solutions in cities and its support to spatial planning. More specifically, with the research grant I’ve been assigned I’m conducting a detailed analysis of the benefits provided by community gardens in the city of Trento.
My PhD research focuses on the cost-effectiveness of Nature-based Solutions for climate adaptation in the urban context.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration at the University of Florence and a master’s degree in Economy of the Environment, Culture and Territory at the University of Turin.
I’m a sustainability scientist, specialized in urban and spatial planning, impact assessment, and environmental decision-making. Formerly research fellow at Harvard University’s Sustainability Science Program, and visiting scholar at Stanford University. I consulted for public bodies internationally, including UNEP, UN-HABITAT, and the European Commission.

Rocco’s research focused on system dynamics, ecosystem service modelling and climate adaptation at the regional scale. He is the co-founder of the start-up company -skopìa (link: https://www.skopia-anticipation.it/it/chi-siamo)
During her PhD, Linda focused on the assessment of the cooling capacity of urban green infrastructures to support spatial planning. She is currently an Environmental expert for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme in South-East Africa.
His research focused on sustainable spatial planning. In particular, he was interested in the role of the ecosystem services to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals at different levels of planning. Currently, he is a researcher in the Spatial Planning Laboratory at the Catholic University of Temuco, Chile.
In his PhD, he developed approaches for the prioritization of forest restoration areas that safeguard the livelihoods of rural communities through a better provision of ecosystem services. He is currently an assistant professor within the Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planning Group at Wageningen University, The Netherlands.
My PhD focuses on hydro-morphodynamics and related ecosystem services of near-natural river corridors and wetlands and their value in the Anthropocene. I conduct part of her research in the Vjosa basin, one of the last free flowing rivers of Europe, in the framework of an international cooperation project led by VIS, CELIM and CESVI. The aim of the project is to contribute to the sustainable development of the Albanian natural capital, by strengthening the capacity of local institutions in the management of natural protected areas
My PhD research focuses on the planning tool of Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) and how it can support the implementation of Nature-based Solution and enhance the provision of ecosystem services in urban context.
I hold a BSc in Urban and Regional Planning from Politecnico di Torino and a MSc in Environmental and Landscape Planning from Università Iuav di Venezia.
I’m interested in operationalizing an ecosystem services approach in watershed management, focusing on the role of urban water infrastructures and the institutions involved in their management. More generally, I research methods for mapping and assessing ecosystem services to support landscape planning. Formerly, teaching assistant in water engineering and technical manager and consultant in the fields of building construction and oil & gas research.
I research the relations among Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), Ecosystem Services, and Urban Sustainability. Specifically, I study environmental and economic assessments of NBS making use of a systems dynamics approach. I hold academic degrees in Environmental Sciences, Architecture/Urbanism, and Landscape Ecology. In the past, I worked for a planning consultancy in the UK.
Mauro’s PhD research analyzed the effects of hydropower production on river biodiversity and ecosystem services. He is currently a researcher at the Department of Ecosystem Research of IGB in Berlin.
I research the link between nature-based solutions and sustainability to support the spatial planning of sustainable cities. I worked as a research fellow at the University of Trento, Italy, mapping and assessing the ecosystem services provided by the urban green infrastructure of the city of Havana, Cuba. I hold a Master of Science in Architecture and Construction Engineering from the University of Trento, Italy.
